  • Who are the people and what are the things that you need to achieve your goal?
  • What are you doing during the day? i.e.  Actions you need to take
  • What habits do you have?
  • What time are you waking up?  

M)→ Meaningful and measurable

Ensure that your goals are meaningful, measurable and trackable. Any goal with a profound meaning is more likely to be achieved than superficial ones.  For example, if you want to own a house around Waikiki beach in Honolulu for the prestige it gives, you can ignore your likelihoods for success.

You can’t just desire things because you feel like desiring them. You can’t crave to shade your weight or generate more income because those are goals you’ve continuously looked for. Why have you always craved for them? Take a moment to write them down

Meaningful goals encompass things like family, faith in God, freedom, security, country, love, service for God and humanity.

A) → Achievable

Focus on goals that are achievable. When you select achievable goals, you will not only achieve them, but you can also cultivate several new impetuses in the process.

Start with your short-term goals. Locate those goals that are deep and big, but not difficult or impossible to achieve and plan for the next 12 months. Goals must have a time frame in order to be achievable. When do you propose to achieve this goal? Don’t just say you want to get a house in the future or become wealthy in the next few years. You have to choose a definite date on the calendar, and pen it down as part of your goal. Circle the date and set up reminders with your phone or any app on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as the case may be. Then, do whatever it takes to achieve it. 

This way, you can chart your progress to determine how far or close you are to achieving that goal. 

E) → Evaluated

Goal setting is an ongoing activity therefore selects a system or build reminders to keep yourself in check. Review your goals every single day preferably early hours in the morning or in the night before going to bed. In doing this, you will be able to gauge your success.

  • Significant and Important but not urgent: Decide when to do these tasks.
  • Urgent but not important: Delegate these tasks if possible.
  • Urgent but not significant: Turn over if possible.
  • Not urgent, not significant and not important: Set these aside to do later.

In prioritizing my tasks, I always prefer urgent to significant and I prefer significant tasks over important ones.

Good time management will enable you to complete more in a shorter period of time and lowers your stress level. Setting time constraints for completing tasks will help you to be more focused and efficient.

Learn when your high-energy time is and utilize it.

Take a break between tasks to clear your head and refresh yourself. Consider grabbing a brief nap, going for a short walk, or meditating.

Give yourself a little reward every time you tick off a box on your To-Do list.
